Fender Musical Instruments Corporation (FMIC) has announced the latest update to its best-selling electric guitar series, the Player Series – the Player II Series.
The new series is designed for intermediate musicians looking to take their playing to the next level. It builds on the success of the original Player Series, which has been popular for its affordability and versatility.
Key improvements in the Player II Series include rosewood fingerboards, modern C-shaped necks with rolled edges for better comfort, and new vintage-inspired colors. The series also offers new options for chambered ash and chambered mahogany bodies on select Stratocaster and Telecaster models.
“The Player II Series represents our continued focus on design and functionality,” said Justin Norvell, EVP of Product at FMIC. “We listened to the feedback from musicians around the world and incorporated their insights to refine and innovate our instruments.”
The new series includes Stratocaster, Telecaster, Jazzmaster, Jaguar, and Mustang models, all available in various colors. Pricing starts at $799.99 for most models.

- Player II Stratocaster® ($799.99 – $899.99 USD): Features a modern C-shaped neck with a comfortable 9.5-inch radius rosewood or maple fingerboard, and Player Series Alnico V single-coil pickups for versatile tones. Alder, chambered ash or chambered mahogany bodies are available in classic Fender finishes and new vintage-inspired colors. Available in both 6-string and HSS configurations.
- Player II Telecaster® ($799.99 – $899.99 USD): Similar to the Stratocaster, the Telecaster features a modern C-shaped neck with a 9.5-inch radius rosewood or maple fingerboard, and Player Series pickups (single-coil or humbucker depending on model) for a wide tonal range. Alder or chambered ash/mahogany bodies are available in classic finishes and new color options.
- Player II Jazzmaster® ($829.99 USD): Jazzmaster model comes with a comfortable C-shaped neck, rosewood fingerboard, and Player Series Alnico V single-coil pickups for classic Jazzmaster tones. Available in a classic alder body with timeless finishes or new vintage-inspired colors.
- Player II Jaguar® ($829.99 USD): Similar to the Jazzmaster, the Jaguar features a C-shaped neck, rosewood fingerboard, and Player Series pickups (single-coil or humbucker) for versatile sonic possibilities. Offered in a classic alder body with various finish options.
- Player II Mustang® ($799.99 USD): The Mustang is the shortest scale guitar in the Player II Series, featuring a comfortable C-shaped neck, rosewood or maple fingerboard, and Player Series Alnico V single-coil pickups for punchy tones. Offered in a classic alder body with various finish options.
