UA’s ANTI Pedal Delivers Modern Metal Mayhem

For guitarists looking to roar beyond the boundaries of conventional metal pedals, The latest offering from Universal Audio, the ANTI 1992 High Gain pedal, captures the scooped ferocity and bite of such subgenres as death metal, black metal, New American Metal, metalcore, and nu-metal.

At the heart of the ANTI pedal is a meticulously modeled emulation of the Peavey 5150, the iconic amp that spawned a new level of guitar savagery and heavily distorted audio clarity for bands like Slipknot, Lamb of God, Morbid Angel, Deftones, Killswitch Engage, and even Knocked Loose.

But the ANTI pedal is more than a 5150 clone. As with their other, less destructive pedals, Universal Audio, has incorporated the ANTI with diverse functionality that allows players to access an eclectic range of tones from genres outside of extreme metal. At the same time, the presets are simple to use and designed to appeal to anyone looking for an instantly recognizable aggressive metal sound and the built in noise gate prevents the pedal from turning dramatic pauses into showers of feedback.

One of the standout features of the ANTI pedal is its ability to access six classic mic and speaker pairings designed to evoke the signature sounds of iconic metal recordings, from American thrash to Scandinavian death metal. With the flick of a switch, players can access: UK V30: 4×12 Marshall cab with V30’s; CA V30: 4×12 Oversized cab with V30’s; White 75: 4×12 Marshall cab with Celestion 75’s;
and three Bonus Cabs: 2×12 D65, 4×12 Celestion 80, 4×12 Brown, available for use with the UAFX mobile app.

Speaking of the mobile app, the ANTI pedal is designed with complimentary technology that allows players to create and save custom presets, tweak hidden controls, and even adjust output tube biasing.
