Harley Benton DNAfx GiT Core: An Affordable, High Quality Multi-Effect Powerhouse

Share

In a relatively short period of time, Harley Benton have established themselves for deliver high-quality guitars at a more-than-reasonable price, and now they’re doing the same for multi-effect units. They entered the market about four years ago with the DNAfx GiT, priced at about $130. A couple months ago, the released the DNAfx GiT Advanced, a high-end model for $175. And Now they’ve dropped back down again, presenting the DNAfx GiT Core, a scaled down version of the original for about $80.

Fortunately, the price drop doesn’t mean a decrease in quality. This pedal is a sonic powerhouse that offers a wide range of tones and effects. There are 55 classic and modern amp models, 26 IR speaker cabinet simulations, 151 built-in effects, a looper, drum machine, and a chromatic tuner. In addition, The multi-effect pedal uses USB connectivity for editing on a MAC or a PC, and it offers direct audio recording, tap tempo function, and OTG features for use with a smartphone or a tablet. The pedal also includes a variety of outputs and inputs, making it easy to integrate into any live or studio setup.

Despite its compact size, the DNAfx GiT Core doesn’t sacrifice any of the quality or tone. It delivers real tube amp feel and response, thanks to its non-linear digital amp modeling technology. The pedal also offers a wide range of effects, from classic drives and delays to modern reverbs and modulation.

We haven’t heard the DNAfx GiT Core in action yet, but if Harley Benton is right about it tapping into the quality of the earlier DNAfx models, the GiT Core could set a new standard for players who want plenty of options without spending much money.
