Madfish and the John Mayall Estate are set to release a comprehensive box set honoring the late blues icon, John Mayall. This extensive 30-disc collection is slated for release on March 7, 2025 and will feature a bounty of previously unreleased live recordings spanning Mayall’s career.
The box set will showcase Mayall’s incredible live performances, featuring legendary musicians like Mick Taylor, Harvey Mandel, Walter Trout, Coco Montoya, Keef Hartley, Mike Gardner, Colin Allen, Larry Taylor, John McVie, Steve Thompson, Blue Mitchell, Johnny Almond, and Clifford Solomon, among many others. These recordings, captured across 30 cities worldwide, offer a comprehensive glimpse into Mayall’s timeless, singular sound.
The box set arrives on the heels of Mayall’s well-deserved induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. With the full support of his estate, the collection includes two incredibly rare, privately recorded shows from Gaz Mayall’s legendary club night, Gaz’s Rockin’ Blues. One of these performances features the legendary Alexis Korner, while the other features a unique collaboration between John and his sons, Gaz and Ben.
