BOSS VG-800 Opens Creative Floodgates for Adventurous Guitarists

Share

The latest offering from BOSS, the VG-800 V-Guitar Processor delivers latency-free operation while providing hyper-realistic modeling of electric and acoustic instruments, plus unique options like banjo, sitar, and bowed VIO tones. Create harmonies, dynamic pitch effects, and rich synth textures, including an emulation of the classic Roland GR-300.

Explore a massive selection of amps and effects along with user-generated sounds via BOSS Tone Exchange. Featuring advanced connectivity options like USB-C® audio/MIDI, TRS MIDI I/O, a stereo/mono effect loop, and external control jacks, the VG-800 is easily tailored to your preferred setup and workflow.

Transformative Tones, Countless Creations
The VG-800’s intuitive menu and BOSS Tone Studio editor software make it easy to build virtual instruments with deep customization. Adjust parameters like instrument style, pickup position, resonance, string pitch, and panning to dial in original sounds, alternate tunings, and wide stereo effects.

With Dual Guitar and Dual Bass, you can create supercharged platforms with two independent instruments. Split two guitars across the strings, split guitar and bass, play two instruments at once, or instantly transition between them. The possibilities are endless.

Natural, Latency-Free Performance
The VG-800 pairs with the Serial GK divided pickup to capture discrete string signals and process them in real time for a natural, latency-free playing experience. Available as user-installable external models (GK-5 for guitar, GK-5B for bass) or internal kits, the latest Serial GK pickups ensure unmatched performance.

Acting as a hub for expanded Serial GK setups, the VG-800 enables connections to a GM-800 Guitar Synthesizer or a second VG-800 via its Serial GK output. This connection supports stereo digital audio transfer, allowing you to output combined sounds from the last connected device.

Break Musical Boundaries
The VG-800 combines cutting-edge instrument modeling with amp/effects processing derived from flagship-level BOSS multi-effects. It supports two modeled sounds plus a standard guitar input, enabling complex sonic blends. With send/return jacks for external pedals, it makes a transformative addition to any stage or studio rig.

Versatile onboard switches and external controls provide a vast array of performance options. Instantly change instrument types and tunings, bend individual string pitches for unique effects, or morph between instruments with separate processing chains.
