Gamechanger Audio has released the new video “10 Ideas For Delay Level Automation” to demonstrate the versatility and innovative design of its Auto Series Delay Pedal. The pedal was released last month, along with the company’s equally interactive reverb and chorus pedals, each priced at around $379 US. Gamechanger released an all-around series video in June introducing the series. Videos for the other pedals will follow.
The Auto Delay is an intuitive pedal capable of everything from subtle slapback to ethereal echoes. The tone of the effect at any given time is largely determined by the playing style of the guitarist. The pedal achieves this through an “intelligent” algorithm that analyzes dynamics and pitch, and adjusts delay time, feedback, and modulation accordingly. Depending on a player’s approach, the pedal can spontaneously see-saw between, say, a subtle rhythmic accent and a swirling, mesmeric soundbed.
Similarly, the Auto Reverb responds to a musician’s playing style, creating spaces that vary from intimate room sounds to cavernous cathedral echoes. However the guitarist sets the reverb, the pedal is designed always to complement what is played.
The final Auto pedal, the chorus, analyzes the player’s approach to create a tone that evolves as the guitarist strums, picks, or sustains notes or chords. Working with a player’s objectives, the pedal will help subtly thicken or dramatically modulate whatever is played.
Each pedal in the Auto Series features core parameters for manual control, for when players want to turn off auto pilot and fly solo. And while each pedal can be used on its own or with practically any other pedals, they shine especially bright when combined.
