Ozzy Osbourne’s former Guitarist Jake E. Lee was shot multiple times early this morning in Las Vegas, management confirmed.

Lee was walking his dog when he was struck with bullets from a random shooter. Lee is currently in an intensive care unit at a Las Vegas hospital and is expected to make a full recovery. The guitarist is fully conscious and doing well in an intensive care unit at a Las Vegas hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.

No more details are available about the shooting, which is under police investigation. No further information is expected, and Lee and his family request that their privacy be respected at this time.

Lee, joined Ozzy’s band to replace the late Randy Rhoads. He performed on the albums Bark At The Moon (1983) and The Ultimate Sin (1986), but he was fired by Ozzy’s wife and manager Sharon following the tour for the latter.

“It’s been 37 years since I’ve seen Jake E. Lee, but that still doesn’t take away from the shock of hearing what happened to him today,” Osbourne said in a statement. “It’s just another senseless act of gun violence. I send my thoughts to him and his beautiful daughter, Jade. I just hope he’ll be ok.”

After severing ties with Ozzy, Lee formed Badlands with vocalist Ray Gillen bassist Greg Chaisson, and drummer Eric Singer. The group released two well-received albums, 1989’s Badlands and 1991’s Voodoo Highway, before breaking up. A collection of unreleased demos was released as Dusk in 1998.

He returned to the spotlight in 2005 with the solo album Retraced and followed in 2007 with Guitar Warrior. In 2014, Lee formed the new band Red Dragon Cartel, which released its self-titled debut in 2014. The band’s most reent release is Patina, which came out in 2018.
