Guitar legend Jimi Hendrix’s iconic Flying V, customized with his own psychedelic artwork have been given new life. The Jimi Hendrix “Love Drops” Flying V is a recreation of the instrument Hendrix hand-painted and played extensively from 1967-1969. The guitar is part of Epiphone’s Inspired by Gibson Custom Collection.

The Live Drops Flying V features a mahogany body with a one-piece mahogany neck and a laurel fretboard with 22 medium jumbo frets. The guitar is available in left-handed (for players like Jimi) and right -handed versions.

Beyond the striking psychedelic design the Love Drops Flying V features a pair of Gibson Custombucker humbucker pickups for powerful tones. These are wired to CTS potentiometers for volume and tone control, along with a Mallory tone capacitor and a Switchcraft 3-way pickup selector switch.

Janie Hendrix, Jimi’s sister and president of Experience Hendrix LLC, praised the collaboration: “Jimi’s artistic expression…expanded into another dimension of art… With the Epiphone series, Gibson has recreated Jimi’s artwork beautifully!”

The Love Drops Flying V ships with an Epiphone hardshell case and is priced at $1,499.
