Weezer Unearths Earliest Recording of “Undone” to Celebrate Blue Album’s 30th Anniversary with Deluxe Reissue

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of their iconic debut album, Weezer have unearthed the earliest known recording of “Undone – The Sweater Song” from their third ever practice session. The track later became a huge hit on The Blue Album, which is being reissued on November 1st via Geffen/UMe.

The most expansive version is the Super Deluxe Edition, which contains four LPs, a ten-inch, and a seven-inch. The set includes the remastered album on 180-gram vinyl alongside 50 additional tracks.

Dissect the Blue Album Box and You’ll Find:

• 36 previously unreleased tracks: This includes 8 “Kitchen Tape Demos,” 22 early practices and live recordings, 6 BBC radio recordings (including 2 unreleased tracks!), and 4 tracks from their LMU sessions.
• Liner notes by longtime friend and collaborator Karl Koch
• A “sweater” embossed box with functioning yarn pull, lithographs, poster, sticker sheet, 12-sided die, and an enamel Bokkus pin.

The Deluxe 3CD Set mirrors much of the Super Deluxe Edition’s bonus content.

The Ultra Limited Edition features an actual knit sweater surrounding the Super Deluxe box set, all signed by the band (only 100 available on Weezer’s webstore).

The Vinyl Edition is for Vinyl enthusiasts, and includes a 2LP 45 rpm half-speed mastered version of The Blue Album, a Zoetrope picture disc, and ghostly blue & clear color vinyl.
